The house was the perfect getaway! We went to Maine for a concert in Bangor but also wanted to visit Acadia national park. This house was right in the middle being about 40 minutes away from each. The house was very well maintained and spacious. The roads leading up to the house were unpaved, which was expected. Just be cautious driving at night or early in the morning when the deer are more active. There were many amenities that came with the house like a binder that included instruction and things to do in Maine, free WiFi, a fire pit, canoes, etc which we will definitely use next time if we stay longer. Also, the instructions for check in and check out were very clear. Overall, we would definitely stay again. Thank you!
Comfortable stay. Just a few basic things like the body wash were missing.
We had a wonderful anniversary trip at Susan’s place! It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Lots of space, beautiful view of nature, and an idyllic spot for a hammock nap. It is rural but we appreciated the privacy and Ellsworth was only 20 minutes away. This is not a reflection on Susan or the home AT ALL but just a note for anyone visiting in the next few weeks. The area is experiencing an extreme drought and as such Dumb Brook is very low/the lake feels much further away as a result. It was a windy path to get there, so just be aware it’s a little less lake front but still beautiful!! The area to get to the Brook to kayak is EXTREMELY muddy (I sunk in so far I lost a shoe) so pack footwear accordingly. Once we got the kayak down, we had a lovely paddle!
