Susan’s place was exactly what the description said. It was a peaceful house with a breathtaking view of the lake and very quiet.
Aya, It's camping! It is a rustic old family camp. There are pictures of a family that once gathered there which was a sweet historic feel. We are avid campers so could handle rustic. We enjoyed cooking, games and a puzzle as well as the fire pit and lovely pond. Downside was a wood stove that was in unusable condition which was reported to the management. Thankfully the shower had good hot water and we packed lots of sweaters. The bedroom off the kitchen was comfortable. Doors are vinyl accordion; kitchen counter is contact paper on wood board. We decided against playing ping pong as the table is badly warped and had a sign noting it was "delicate". I'm sure it had memories for the family, but we considered unusable. We did have clean-up to do on the little BBQ and kitchen dishes. A great, new electric kettle available. As for location, mostly quiet with occasional ATV zipping down the road (trail entry not far away). We had fun but do not think it's worth what we paid.
We stayed here to split time between Acadia National Park and a relaxing vacation. This cabin worked out great! We bought fishing licenses and had a great time fishing on the lake and caught several fish. Having the kayaks to use was a nice touch. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed. It was nice there were a few fans in the closets we were able to use since we visited during a hot and humid week. Plenty of towels and extra blankets if needed. The area is very quiet and peaceful. If we were ever in the area we would stay again!
